Set up email forwarding so your call-outs get scored
QuoteWorthy works by reading the call-out digest emails you already receive from services like HARO, Qwoted, and SourceBottle. You forward those digests to a private address yourself, and QuoteWorthy only ever reads what you forward - it never scrapes and never logs into your mailbox. It pulls out every call-out, scores it against your expertise profile, and surfaces the strong matches worth answering. It never sends anything on your behalf, so you stay in full control.
This guide walks you through the one-time setup. It takes about five minutes.
Step 1: Find your private forwarding address
Sign in to QuoteWorthy and open Settings -> Ingestion. At the top you will see your unique private forwarding address. Click Copy to put it on your clipboard - you will paste it into your email provider in the next step.
Keep this page open. When you set up forwarding in Gmail, a confirmation prompt appears right here so you can finish verification without leaving QuoteWorthy.
Step 2: Forward your digests
Pick your email provider below and follow the matching steps. You only need to do this once per digest service you use - HARO, Qwoted, and SourceBottle can all forward to the same address.
Gmail
- Open Gmail, then go to Settings (gear) -> See all settings -> Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
- Click Add a forwarding address, paste your private QuoteWorthy address, and click Next -> Proceed.
- Gmail shows the address with a Verify link. Switch back to the QuoteWorthy Ingestion tab - within a few seconds a Confirm in Gmail button appears (we catch Gmail's confirmation for you, so there is no code to type). Click it, then click I've confirmed.
- Back in Gmail, open Settings -> Filters and Blocked Addresses -> Create a new filter. In the From field add your digest senders (for example haro, qwoted, sourcebottle) and click Create filter.
- Tick Forward it to, choose your QuoteWorthy address, and save. New digests now flow in automatically.
Outlook
- Open Settings -> Mail -> Rules and click Add new rule. Name it something like "Forward to QuoteWorthy".
- Add a condition: From -> add your digest senders (HARO, Qwoted, and SourceBottle).
- Add an action: Forward to -> paste your private QuoteWorthy address.
- Save the rule. Outlook does not require verification, so new digests forward in immediately.
On a work or school account? Your Outlook lives at outlook.office.com - open Settings -> Mail -> Rules there instead.
Step 3: Confirm it is working
Once a real digest arrives at your private address, the Ingestion tab flips to Forwarding verified, and the call-outs from that digest show up in your dashboard - each one already scored against your expertise profile.
Tips
- Set your filter to match only your digest senders so personal mail is never forwarded.
- You can forward as many of the three platforms as you use - they all route to the same address.
- QuoteWorthy only reads and scores your call-outs. It surfaces the matches worth answering - and drafts them only if you turn drafting on - but never sends email for you.
